The Music of the French Republican Guard Headlines the 2012 Edition!
This year you’ll have the chance to see the performance from the world famous marching band: The Music of the French Republican Guard! This prestigious marching band rarely makes an appearance abroad since it is the President of the French Republic’s own official marching band. The French Republican Guard mostly performs at receptions for foreign dignitaries and participates in major French national ceremonies, such as Armistice Day on November 11th and French National Day (Bastille Day) on July 14th.

Many other top quality foreign marching bands shall also be participating in this year’s edition, such as Great Britain’s Band of the Prince of Wales’s Division, the Royal Netherlands Army Band ‘Johan Willem Friso,’ as well as a Russian marching band. From Switzerland, you’ll see the young recruit musicians from the fanfare ER 16-2 and the Lucerne Marching Band, a civilian marching band specialized in show parade.

A “Massed Pipes and Drums!”
A Military Tattoo can only take place with the participation of bagpipers and drummers. Such shall be the case this year when hundreds of “Pipes and Drums” from Switzerland, Germany and Scotland shall perform together at the Aventicum Musical Parade. Thrills and emotions guaranteed!

Appenzell! A Region Proud of its Folklore!
Aventicum Musical Parade is also providing the opportunity to get acquainted with another region of Switzerland through its folklore and music. Appenzell shall host this next edition. The show is headed by a Yodel and String Music group, headed by Nicolas Senn, the Swiss “Hackbrett” hammered dulcimer virtuoso.
