With almost 8,000 “Quality coaches” trained to this day and over 4,400 labels awarded in Switzerland, the Quality Programme of Swiss Tourism is an approach recognised in Switzerland and abroad.
The Quality Programme of Swiss Tourism offers tourism providers the possibility of checking the quality of their service and of optimising it in such a way as to respond precisely to their guests’ expectancies. Each establishment that holds this diploma has looked into the service it dispenses daily and studied it thoroughly and systematically. Thanks to the approach providers were able to point out a certain number of measures that they implemented amongst their co-workers, enabling each one to provide the client with a targeted response. The establishment formally engages itself in writing, and the follow-up is ensured by the supervisory board of the Swiss Tourism Federation in Bern that studies the measures and checks them out.
The programm was launched in 1997 under the auspices of the most important Swiss central tourism organisations, namely Swiss Tourism, the Swiss Tourism Federation, Gastro Suisse, The Swiss Hotel Keepers’ Association, the Swiss Association of Cable Transport Enterprises, the Public Transport Union, the Swiss Association of Tourism Directors, the “Institute for Research on Leisure and Tourism (FIF)” of the University of Bern as well as the “Frey Akademie” in Zurich.
