Christmas Village
The Christmas Village takes place in the Place de l'Eglise throughout December.
Christmas Village
The Christmas Village offers a wide range of free events open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday.
Every Wednesday and Friday afternoon, there will be workshops for children organised by ARPEJE, starting at 2pm. The local societies welcome you to the Place de l'Eglise every Thursday and Friday from 5pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am, to share a convivial moment with light refreshments.
The programme includes concerts, games, raclettes, crêpes, storytelling, a Christmas market and lots of other surprises!
The Christmas Village welcomes you to a winter wonderland of chalets, fir trees, lights, a curling rink, delicate flavours and scents to delight your palate and your festive spirit.

The traditional Advent Windows are also part of the programme. You'll find all the information you need under the "Advent Windows" tab.
The times when the public can visit the festival square are as follows:

Advent Windows
During the Advent period, the residents and shopkeepers of Avenches are decorating their windows and shop windows to create a magical atmosphere in the run-up to the festive season.
You are cordially invited to come and discover and stroll through the streets and alleys of Avenches from 1 to 20 December on the theme of "Christmas in the chalet!
The Fenêtres de l'Avent mug is on sale at the Tourist Office for CHF 3.50.

Curling and activities for children
An artificial curling rink and games are available free of charge when the Christmas Village is open!
Wednesday and Friday afternoons will be reserved for children, with Christmas workshops organised by the ARPEJE between 2pm and 6pm.
There's no need to register, just pop along to the ARPEJE stand in the Christmas Village!
On Wednesday afternoons, the workshops are complemented by the following activities:
Wednesday 6 December 2023: St Nicholas procession at 6.30 p.m.
Wednesday 13 December 2023: Donkey and pony rides organised by Ferme des Biolles
Wednesday 21 December 2023: Storytelling for children at 6pm organised by the Library
